California may investigate Schumer over IndyMac failure.

Excellent news!

California’s Attorney General is reviewing a request by former employees of IndyMac Bancorp Inc to investigate whether a New York senator triggered the bank’s collapse by releasing confidential information.

We ran a post on July 12th asking if “Chuck Schumer caused the collapse of the IndyMac Bank” with his typical grandstanding letter to regulators as was alleged by the director of the Office of Thrift Supervision, John Reich. See that post for the back story of this matter.

One response to “California may investigate Schumer over IndyMac failure.

  1. The whole thing is farcical and it should tell you all that you need to know. Whilst much of the blame can be laid at the doors of the financial sector with their cavalier attitude when it came to lending money to borrowers.
It also showed how lackadaisical Congress has been.

Say nothing of which they’re now prepared to loan the Big Three automakers some $50bn in order that they can reorganize. Clearly this administration and the members of Congress are so out of touch . That it begs the question do they know what the hell that they’re doing ?
