Biden says Israel must accept nuclear Iran!

Biden has historically been a strong ally of Israel, so this comment may turn out to be apocryphal. If, however, it turns out to be true, there will be some slippage of support among voters who count themselves strong supporters of Israel.

Here’s an excerpt (read it all at Haaretz)…

Democratic vice-presidential candidate Joe Biden was quoted Monday as telling senior Israeli officials behind closed doors that the Jewish state will have to reconcile itself to a nuclear Iran.

In the unsourced report, Army Radio also quoted Biden as saying that he opposed “opening a additional military and diplomatic front.”

Denver: The Circus comes to town.

This is going to be a psychedelic week!

“…a light will shine through that window, a beam of light will come down upon you, you will experience an epiphany … and you will suddenly realize that you must go to the polls and vote for Obama”‘

— Barack Hussein Obama

Above is a drawing by Otto Veblin which appears today in an article by James Lewis in American Thinker entitled “Why are liberals so gullible?”

Great article…a must read by all conservative standards (via link above).

Here’s an excerpt…

When you see Obama’s next Nuremberg Rally with his nose in the air, take it as a sign of things to come. He really does despise us, you know. But he feels sorry for us, too, because he knows better. Contempt and pity go hand in hand. Maybe the liberal masses just love being pitied. Maybe they just accept being weak, helpless, and not too bright. Good grief.

Liberalism doesn’t change. What might change, over time, is for more sensible folk to recover their voices, after being completely shut out of the public square by the Sixties Left. The answer to liberal gullibility is debate, debate, debate. Open up those minds, tell them it’s ok to think your own thoughts, it’s ok to be different. Intellectual courage matters.

The media should never be run by a professional guild. Monopolies kill competing voices. Real thinking only thrives with vigorous intellectual competition. That’s why our universities have become brain-dead company towns. That’s why the Old Media need to go out of business, and the sooner the better.

When America rediscovers open debate, freedom will thrive again. The victims of media delusions will discover a world of intellectual excitement and danger. True Believers will have to deal with the reality of Doubt.

Here’s to it. Vive la liberté!

Passed Over (McCain’s Hillary Ad–video embed)

Not only is Obama inexperienced in terms of his qualifications for the Presidency…he is also an inexperienced politician who lacked the foresight to imagine what the mere appearance of a rebuff would mean to Hillary supporters.

Whether he ultimately selected her as his running mate or not, one would think Obama would have been careful to give the impression that Hillary was high on his list…but he didn’t even pretend to vet her.

Sorry Barry, you once again have only yourself to blame!

McCain Camp takes the Obama/Biden ticket apart (video link)

Nancy Pfotenhauer from the McCain Campaign does an incredible job of letting the air out of the Obama/Biden balloon in an interview with Wolf Blitzer at CNN. I tried to embed the video, but failed…so, unfortunately, you’ll have to check it out at blogsforjohnmccain.com

Obama’s Big Mistake–Biden, the gasbag! (Jonah Goldberg)

Jonah Goldberg at NRO hammers home the point I have been making to anyone who will listen–that the selection of Biden is great…for the GOP.

Here’s an excerpt (read it all here)…

I think it is an outright terrible decision on Obama’s part to pick Biden. Yes, he helps balance Obama’s inexperience on foreign policy, but he also reminds people of it. Yes, Biden could conceivably be effective as an attack dog. But Biden is such a gasbag he makes the Hindenburg look like a sack of rocks. Obama doesn’t need to increase his lip-flapping quotient. Biden is a gaffe machine and Obama is bad explaining faults, and his VP’s faults will inevitably become Obama’s in the Fall campaign. Biden will be fantastic at convincing people already eager to vote for Obama to vote for Obama. His ability to convince the undecided is much, much weaker, in my opinion. There’s more than a small risk that Biden will reinforce the sense that this ticket is all about hearing itself talk. I wouldn’t be surprised, two months from now, that we’ll hear a lot of talk about how Obama’s mistake in picking Biden can be explained by Obama’s inherent weakness, and love, for talky-talk-talk.

Obama/Biden: “Congenital Windbags 2008!”

Barry picks Biden! And I thought Obama didn’t have a sense of humor.

Obama, himself abundantly gaffe-prone, picks another congenital windbag also most well-known for his loose lips and love of the microphone.

I know, I know! “Don’t tell me words don’t matter.” Heheh!

This election is going to be more fun than a college kegger!

Bush accuses “unnamed” appeasers of “appeasement”…and Obama is offended (heheh)

Update at 2:27pm!!! It seems that other Dems are also incensed by the truth…including Sen John “Khrismass in Kambodia” Kerry, Plugs (aka “Smilin’ Joe”) Biden, Nancy “Bela” Pelosi and others! It’s a regular firestorm!

While speaking to the Knesset on Israel’s 60th birthday, the President spoke in general terms about the counter-productivity of “appeasement.” Here is an excerpt from his statement…

“Some seem to believe we should negotiate with terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along,” the President said to the country’s legislative body, “We have heard this foolish delusion before. As Nazi tanks crossed into Poland in 1939, an American senator declared: ‘Lord, if only I could have talked to Hitler, all of this might have been avoided.’ We have an obligation to call this what it is –- the false comfort of appeasement, which has been repeatedly discredited by history.”

Obama, obviously feeling rather prickly on the subject of appeasement, jumped to the conclusion that the President was calling him out. He responded with…

“It is sad that President Bush would use a speech to the Knesset on the 6Oth anniversary of Israel’s independence to launch a false political attack.

Question is, if this was a general attack on appeasers (without mentioning Obama by name), why did Obama get his bloomers in a knot…unless, of course, he’s afraid he’s guilty of being an appeaser?
